Car Insurance Lexus (Car Insurance). Need help with my '93 Ford Ranger, can anyone help?Need help with my '93 Ford Ranger, can anyone help? Im having problems with my truck and looking for answers. Started happening recently, don't know how just did. The problem is when i press the gas a bit it chokes up and wants to die. If i step on it i can get it going but will still choke up at first before it actually runs fine. It wont die if i put it on neutral and just let it sit. starts fine, unless if i let it die, then i have trouble starting it. im guessing it has something to do with the fuel lines or something. ... im new to mechanics so not sure what it could be. Check the obvious stuff first: You might have an intake manifold problem, unsure, but its possible. I saw the same thing in my mini van. Is it fuel injected? Could be the injectors are leaking and flooding the engine. Air filter is clogged. If it has a carburetor, the float is stuck or bad. Auto parts : Polisher Acura 1995 . Lexus . How to Lower a Rear EndLowering the rear end of your car or truck is an inexpensive modification which can be performed in just a few hours in your garage or driveway. The best way to lower the rear of leaf spring-equipped vehicles is to install a set of lowering blocks, which mount between the axle and leaf spring of the car. These are constructed of extruded aluminum or high-impact plastic for strength and include all of the necessary hardware for installation in the kit. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Automotive jack Jack stands 1/2-inch drive socket set Lowering block kit Step by Step : 1 Raise the rear of your car with a jack and support the frame on jack stands. Position the jack under the driver's side of the axle shaft and raise the jack to support the axle. 2 Unbolt the stock U-bolts that secure the rear axle to the leaf spring with a 1/2-inch drive socket set. The U-bolts have a mounting plate underneath the leaf spring then are routed over the top of the axle. There are four bolts visible on the bottom of the mounting plate that must be removed. 3 Raise the jack to lift the axle up from the leaf spring of the vehicle. Slide the lowering block between the axle and the leaf spring. There is a pin that fits into a mounting hole on the axle and a mounting hole on the lowering block that fits into a pin on the leaf spring. These help ensure that the block is mounted correctly. 4 Hang the replacement U-bolts over the top of the axle and route then down through the mounting plate of the leaf spring. Tighten the bolts manually until the passenger's side lowering block is installed. The installation is the same on both sides of the vehicle. When finished, tighten the mounting bolts securely with the 1/2-inch drive socket set. 5 Raise the vehicle off the jack stands with the jack, pull out the jack stands then lower the car to the ground. Tips & Warnings Install front lowering springs or spindles to match the ride height of the rear of the vehicle to the front. Ensure that all mounting bolts are tightly installed to prevent them from coming off while driving.
Lexus . How to Lower a Spring CompressorA spring compressor is used when you want to remove a coil spring from the front suspension. This is most commonly used in a strut suspension, with a pair of spring compressors mounted onto the single spring. The problem comes when you want to lower the spring compressor, and release the tension from the springs. If not done properly, you risk injury from the spring under tension. Lowering a spring compressor takes just a few minutes. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Half-inch ratchet and socket set Step by Step : 1 Lay the spring down on the ground with the spring compressors on either side of the spring. 2 Slowly loosen the adjustment bolts on one of the spring compressors with the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket, loosening it just five revolutions of the ratchet. 3 Switch to the other spring compressor on the spring. Loosen it five revolutions with the half-inch ratchet and socket. 4 Repeat steps 2 and 3, alternating loosening the two spring compressors so that you keep equal tension on the spring so that it doesn't pop free one direction or another. Stop when the spring compressors are completely loose on the spring, then take them off by hand. *K—-Bral8 pF shoe — Spring Keep the following in mind for any major work your brakes may need: Don't attempt to replace shoes, linings, or wheel cylinders yourself unless you do so under the eye of an auto shop instructor. If you choose to go this route, the money you save more than pays for your tuition! The job is neither difficult nor complicated. It just needs supervision. If you'd rather have the work done for you, find a reliable brake specialist rather than taking your car to the corner garage. Try the Yellow Pages or have the mechanic at your local service station steer you to one. Call a couple of places and ask for estimates on rebuilding your brakes. Avoid the cheapest place as well as the most expensive! Chapter 22 is filled with advice on finding good service facilities and dealing with them successfully. Reassembling drum brakes After you finish inspecting your brakes, as I explained in the preceding sec tion, you're ready to replace everything. Refer to Figure 18-4 to make sure 845

As you did with the drums, saturate the dirt on the brake backing plate with brake parts cleaner; then wipe it off with a clean, grease-free rag and throw the rag away. .Chapter 18: Being a Buddy to Your Brakes and Bearings 2 ff 1 Don't blow the dust around — it can contain asbestos and cause serious lung damage. If you'd rather not deal with it at all, just leave the grime alone. 2. Wipe the dirt off the spindle and replace the wheel hub and brake drum on the spindle. If you have a floating drum, skip Steps 4 through 8 and slide the drum back over the lug nut studs until it contacts the hub. Be gentle so that you don't unseat the grease seal. 3. If you haven't already cleaned the inside of the drum, spray it with brake cleaner and wipe it out with a grease-free rag; then wrap the rag in a plastic bag and dispose of it immediately. 4. Replace the outer wheel bearing (smaller end first) and the washer. Don't let any dirt get on these! Lexus . How do you adjust the handbrake cable on a 2004 corsa van?
Subaru Tribeca. * 5. Replace the adjusting nut by screwing it on firmly and then backing it off half a turn and retightening it "finger tight." ^ ^—-^ Another way to complete this step is to back the adjusting nut off one full notch (60 degrees) and, if the notch doesn't line up with the hole in the spindle, back it off just enough until it does. Then spin the wheel by hand to be sure that it turns freely. If it doesn't, loosen the nut a bit more. 6. Insert the cotter pin into the hole in the castellated nut. The cotter pin should clear the outer grooves and go all the way through. Refer to your sketch, if you made one, to make sure that it's pointing in the right direction. 7. Bend the legs of the cotter pin back across the surface of the nut to hold it in place. 8. Replace the grease cap. 9. Follow the instructions in Chapter 1 to replace your wheel, lug nuts, and hubcap and lower the vehicle to the ground. Checking disc brakes Today, most vehicles have four-wheel disc brakes. Others have disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear wheels. Lexus . Driving condition to arkansas on highway 57?

Before you check your brakes, go to an auto supply store or to the parts department of your dealership and ask to see a set of brake pads for your vehicle's make, model, and year. Measure the thickness of the linings on the pads so that you'll be able to tell whether the linings on your brakes are badly worn when you check them.
